SOC101 Principles of Sociology: Finding Newspapers

This LibGuide discusses finding and using census data, articles on history and current events, cultural, class, and ethnic issues of a specific country or area of Boston.

Why Use Newspapers?

Local newspapers especially will be helpful for this project.  They will include both facts and commentary about the neighborhoods or countries you're researching.

All Library Databases

The databases listed to the right should only be considered a starting point. You can explore all of the library's databases here:

Local Newspapers

These newspapers include articles about Massachusetts, Boston, and specific neighborhoods in Boston.

Other (Non-Local) Newspapers

Try these databases for newspapers with a wider circulation or focus.

eLibrary

eLibrary offers not only newspapers but also magazines, transcripts, images, videos, and more. This is a good place to find photos for your presentation.
