June 17, 1775 is a significant day in American history. This is the date of the Battle of Bunker Hill, which occurred mostly on Breed's Hill in Charlestown, MA.
The British won the battle, but the American fought valiantly.

May - Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold capture Fort Ticonderoga.

July 3 - Washington takes command of Continental Army
November 7 - Lord Dunmore offers liberty to slaves who rebel against rebellious masters
